We are proud to announce the Humane Animal Treatment Society's new Executive Director, Amanda Tillotson. Many of you may know Amanda from her previous roles with HATS, most recently as the Community Involvement Coordinator. As the Executive Director, she will continue our mission to provide lifesaving services for companion animals in our community.
“I am honored and excited to be leading such an important organization in our community. It’s hard to think about, but just over 10 years ago only about half of all animals entering the Isabella County Animal Shelter were leaving alive. Since HATS has taken over animal care operations, drastic improvements have been made and in 2020 we celebrated another year at no-kill status. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside the dedicated staff and community members that have made this possible, and I’m so proud to be part of this team. Together, we will continue to grow and set the standard for animal welfare in our community.” - Amanda Tillotson
Amanda was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant and graduated from Central Michigan University in 2013. She has been working in animal welfare for over 7 years; having held positions in every aspect of shelter operations. Her passion for animal welfare and drive to improve our programs and partnerships in the community will certainly move our organization in the right direction!
P.S. The photos above include Maple the Coonhound, one of Amanda's many foster dogs, and Jake the Golden Boy, her beloved HATS rescue and well known therapy dog in the community.
